TI bans community calculator emulation

http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?topic=15796.0

TI added another clause to its EULA:

Quote (TI)
<div class="quoteMessage" style="border:1px inset;max-height:200px;overflow:auto;height:expression(this.scrollHeight<5?this.style.height:scrollHeight>200?'200px':''+(this.scrollHeight+5)+'px');">
You may not use the Licensed Materials on any emulator of a TI calculator unless the emulator is obtained from TI.

We can technically have TI calc emulators, but we can't run TI's OSes on them. In my opinion, what TI said will make native-code programming a nightmare. Fortunately, it isn't exactly enforceable.

Well, long time no see! We're starting to recruit members here. While I was gone, I was playing Minecraft and worrying about Science Fair. Science Fair... oh, choosing the topic is so hard.

I sent a complaint letter to TI

I know TI wouldn't listen, but I wrote this to **** them off:

I am notifying you that I will no longer support you. You have actively locked down assembly development for the TI-Nspire, and to some extent, the TI-84 Plus Series via 2.53/2.55 MP. I will no longer buy your calculators, nor use them in class. I am the leader of the Union of Concerned Calculator Programmers (http://uccp.ucoz.com) and I will use a Casio Prizm in class as soon as I buy one.
